Dear Boss of Tumblr
I can’t think of a feature I want less than a way to find people from Twitter and Facebook. Tumblr is my refuge from Twitter and Facebook.
Sincerely,
O. Guysrule

This is the first Doc Watson song that I remember hearing. It made me a lifelong fan of his and opened the door for me to discover a world of great acoustic music that has enhanced my life.
RIP, Doc.

School Boarding
Leslie and I got home after midnight after attending a raucous school board meeting. The meeting became so hot that one of the school board members challenged me to go out in the parking lot and duke it out.
I haven’t had a fistfight in 40 years, but I’ve got to say I’m glad that at 64 years old I can still piss off a 40-year-old school trustee enough that he wants to take me outside to settle the issue.
I may be old and fat, but I’ve still got my political chops.

summersumz replied to your photo: Me waiting for Alison Krauss at Mountian Winery….you live nearby!? I live in San Carlos.
I work in Santa Cruz. I live in a little town called Aromas that sits in a corner where Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties come together. I don’t get to the big city very often.

Atta Boy, Girl!
Those of you who follow Cleapow (if you don’t, you should) know that she is graduating with a Master’s degree today. Those of you who have kids understand the parental pride I feel in Casey’s accomplishment.
And I am proud of her academic success. But I am more proud of the great person she has become. Casey is the whole package. She is smart; funny; beautiful. She could have become anything she wanted to become. The fact that she has chosen a vocation of helping children who desperately need help is a demonstration that she has the right values. Throughout her life, Casey has given me hundreds of reasons to be proud of her. Today is right up there at the top.
I would like to think that I had something to do with helping shake the woman that Casey has become. But the truth is she is the person who is responsible for creating her life and how she interacts with the world.
When she was little, I would drop her off at school every day with this salutation: “Have fun, baby; Learn a lot; get smart.”
Have fun today, Bugsy.

I’M GOING TO STRAWBERRY!!!!!!!
Some of our musician friends have extra tickets to the Strawberry Music Festival happening this weekend just outside Yosemite. Because Leslie is such a good singer they gave us the tickets in return for Leslie singing with them in their jam camp.
We will celebrate Cleapow’s Master’s degree graduation Saturday afternoon and then head for the mountains.
I picked this song because Robert Earl Keen is one my favorite artists and he will close the festival Sunday night.
As we used to say at the beach: STOKE!!!!!!!!

Is it Friday yet?
I have a four-day weekend starting Friday. Ironically, that makes Monday harder. I don’t want to go to work — I want to party.
Signing off so I can start watching the clock.
